The Oberoi Rajgarh

Near the temples of Khajuraho, The Oberoi Rajgarh restores a 350-year-old fortress palace into one of India's most romantic hotels. GA's lighting brief was a paradox: make a palace of this scale glow like candlelight.

The answer is layered restraint – warm grazing light on the carved white facades, arcades counted out arch by arch, reflecting pools doubling every lumen, and the skyline of chhatris and spires drawn against the dusk without a single visible fixture.

The result reads less like illumination and more like the building remembering its own evenings, three centuries of them.
